Is Kitty Klumpers tofu cat litter flushable?

While tofu cat litter is flushable in conventional sewer systems and shouldn’t cause any problems with healthy plumbing, we recommend disposing of used litter in the trash or using it in your garden — this approach is better for the environment.

How much litter should I put in the tray?

For optimal odour control and performance, we recommend filling the tray with at least 5cm of our premium tofu cat litter. However, filling it up more won’t go to waste! Our litter clumps exceptionally well, meaning all waste is filtered out and unused litter remains clean, ensuring maximum use and value for your furry friend. How do I transition my cat to Tofu Cat Litter?

While most cats may handle an instant transition to tofu litter without issue, it’s important to consider that cats are creatures of habit. Therefore, it’s always best to follow these steps to ensure a smooth transition and keep your cat happy. By gradually introducing the new litter and maintaining consistency in their litter box setup, you can help reduce any potential stress or resistance from your cat during the transition process:

Step 1: Keep Everything Else the Same

During the transition, maintain consistency in your cat’s litter box setup. Avoid changing the box, its location, or introducing any new changes, especially if you’ve recently added another cat to the household. Keeping everything else about the litter box and routine consistent is crucial for a successful transition.

Step 2: Gradual Transition

Ease your cat into the new litter by gradually introducing it. Start with a mixture of 80% old litter and 20% new litter, gradually increasing the proportion of new litter over time until your cat is exclusively using the new one. Cats are perceptive creatures, so be sure to maintain a layer of their old litter on top to help ease the change.

Step 3: Positive Associations

To encourage your cat to use the new litter, add some of their old litter to the new litter box. This helps your cat associate the new litter with their usual bathroom spot, making the transition smoother.

Why do you not stock scented litter?

Fragrances may not always be healthy for cats and can be unpleasant for them. We encourage customers to avoid fragrances or chemicals in litter. If a scent is absolutely necessary, a fragrance diffuser placed in the room can achieve the same effect without direct contact, making it safer and more comfortable for your cat.

Is Kitty Klumpers cat litter more expensive than other options on the market?

Not at all! While the initial cost may seem more expensive than some of the budget cat litters, the value of Kitty Klumpers lies in its longevity. Due to its superior clumping ability and practically no wastage, our litter lasts significantly longer than traditional options. Where should I store the Eco Wheelie Bin?

For best results, store your bin in a cool, dry place indoors, away from direct sunlight. Exposure to moisture and heat can affect the litter’s performance. If storing the bin outdoors is necessary, we recommend investing in a protective cover to maintain optimal freshness (available in our store). How long can I keep the litter in storage?

If the packaging seal is intact, our packaged litter can be safely stored for over 2 years. Additionally, our Eco Wheelie Bin litter, when stored properly, can last for over 12 months. This ensures that you can stock up on our litter without worrying about it expiring. Whether you’re a cat owner or a retailer, you can trust that our litter will remain fresh and effective until you’re ready to use it.

Why do you have a surcharge for Afterpay?

At Kitty Klumpers, we aim to keep our costs affordable, ensuring competitive prices for our customers. Afterpay charges vendors a fee of (6%), which some vendors absorb in their product pricing. This strategy ultimately results in higher product costs for everyone. To avoid this issue, we only pass Afterpay costs to those that choose to utilise the Afterpay service (we only pass on a 4% surcharge, instead of the full 6% Afterpay charges vendors).

Similarly, EFT comes with no vendor fees, so we offer our customer a 1% discount on their order if they pay by EFT, providing an incentive for lower-cost payment methods.

What is the difference between Tofu and Tofu+ Carbon?

Both are very similar, offering excellent performance. Tofu is our budget-friendly option with no added odour control, though it remains fresh after clump removal. Tofu + Carbon is a premium choice, using pea fibre instead of soybean fibre for improved clumping and reduced dust, plus added odour control and baking soda. As the name suggests, it also features activated carbon to further enhance odour control, giving it a distinctive grey colour.

Should I choose Millet or Tofu?

We recommend Tofu varieties for standard litter trays and Millet for automatic litter trays. However, fussy cats and individual preferences can vary, so you may need to experiment to find the best fit for your cat.
